Over 2,000 people go missing in the UK every day.
Most are located within twenty-four hours, but for some, no trace of their whereabouts is ever known.
A retired police officer opens their forgotten files. As a cold case officer, he deems them worthy of further investigation.
What he uncovers is disturbing.
Our review of The Forgotten
The Forgotten, by Ron A. Sewell, is a classic police procedural mystery thriller. A serial killer is on the loose in a small British village. The clues all point to one person, but that person has a rock-solid alibi. Rupert Parsons, a retired coper, is pulled off the shelf to help with cold cases, and along with his partner, also working in law enforcement, Joyce Parsons, they start to see a trend - a series of missing women over many years, all of them more or less the same age, and all of them drawn to the same, inexplicable place before they disappear. Sewell does a great job of hanging the reader over a cliff, waiting for the final card to drop - the one that exposes the killer. It's good suspense, and very real police investigatory procedure, old-school style investigation as they follow the clues, one body at a time. Moreover, as the author reveals in the book description, some 2000 people disappear every day in the United Kingdom, some of whom never resurface, and that statistic is a haunting one, made very real by the plot in this story. Five stars!

About the author

Ron A. Sewell
Bio
Ron Sewell is a no-nonsense type of person. What you see is what you get. However, he is afraid of heights. He writes Adventure/Thrillers and flash fiction. He regularly contributes to flash fiction sites, and a plethora of his short stories are published. As a taut as an anchor chain, his novels focus on thirty-five years of activity worldwide while serving in Royal Navy. Hence, it is an old-fashioned, carefully constructed piece of writing with the right dose of suspense and unexpected twists. He is best known for his ‘Collector’ series, six books set in exciting locations.
