International Writers Inspiring Change feature book review: Homo Cosmicus 2: Titan, by Todor Bombov

Updated: Sep 22

Homo Cosmicus 2: Titan, is a science fiction portrayal of the world to come, in the not too distant future. Make no mistake about it, while it is categorized as sci-fi, it has tremendous relevance. While the story itself skips across time, it resonates with the world of now, and how it can evolve. The author smartly depicts a future scenario where major corporations are harvesting planets and asteroids for profit, where global warming has forced humanity to adapt to another existence, where Earth is a stepping stone to the galaxy. It is only fiction because it hasn't all happened yet, but in a very real sense, the author transports the reader to another future dimension, to see how the circumstances of our existence today, could very well play out. As science fiction writer, Ray Bradbury said:

“Science fiction is the most important literature in the history of the world, because it's the history of ideas, the history of our civilization birthing itself. ... Science fiction is central to everything we've ever done, and people who make fun of science fiction writers don't know what they're talking about.”

Homo Cosmicus 2: Titan, is a recommended read.
